HTC One M8-update

HTC One M8 from AT&T gets Lollipop

Owners of an HTC One M8 from AT&T have been expecting these news for quite a long time now. It’s finally happening. The US carrier is starting to release the update today.

Other US carriers have already released the update to Lollipop for their respective versions of the HTC One M8. The first one was Sprint, back in February, followed by T-Mobile and Verizon. It’s the turn now to AT&T, that will finally update the M8 to Lollipop.

This update has come much latter than it was initially expected, as HTC had announced a 90-day deadline for their main devices when Android 5.0 Lollipop was presented. The date was due in February, and still not all the devices announced have received the update.

This time, the update has been announced by Mo Versi, Vice President of Product Manager at HTC, who posted a tweeter last evening with the news.

The upgrade will bring the software to Android 5.0 Lollipop, although you will still need another update to move to Sense 7, as this is not included here. You will need to wait for the next update to run Sense 7, but you can definitely start to enjoy Lollipop today.

Keep an eye on the notifications to see if the update is available, or search for it manually. The update will be rolling out in waves, so it might take a while until it reaches your device.
