Sprint releases an OTA update for the LG G2. The current flagship of the Korean company is G3, but the previous model is still a great device. Sprint has decided to expand its life for a bit longer, offering a new OTA update.
The new version will probably reach Verizon owners on the next days, so be patient if you don’t get the notification right away. The new software version is ZVE, and it just announces a few changes, nothing really big.
From its website, Verizon announces the list of changes, which involves improvements to LTE attachment, enhancements to HD Voice and some Google Security patch.
With this update, Sprint shows that the last year flagship from LG is still on a device to take into account. The LG G2 was one of the best considered phones of the 2013, and it still a good choice among the similar devices currently available on the market.
If you are one of the Verizon owners of this device and you haven’t received the notification for the update yet, you can always check for it manually. You just need to be sure to use a Wi-Fi connection to download the file and have the G2 charged with enough battery before starting the installation of the new software version.
Althoug it doesn’t update the phone to Android 4.4.4, neither has they announced any close update to Android 5.0 Lollipop for the G2, it’s still an update. If you don’t have your phone rooted, it’s always a good thing to have the last version of the software running on your device.
