Since news about an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop versions 5.1 and 5.2 were published, there are many who are awaiting the arrival of new enhancements to the Google operating system that correct their mistakes and develop their ideas into a more powerful way from what not had been implemented as they should in the beginning.
If this is your case and you own a Sony Z Ultra GPE (aka Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition) and have been waiting for an update to Android 5.1 from Google, it’s no secret that has been put in up the release of updates for all GPE devices. So far we have seen that new versions of Android and have been updated in some terminals like the Moto G, the LG Pad G 8.3 or HTC One M8, and now is the time for a massive update for Sony Z Ultra GPE. The update can be performed using an OTA, call LMY47D, and it remains unknown how many levels we are talking about, in terms of improvements. Presumably, the OTA is being completed in stages and will soon be available for download.
The Sony Z Ultra was originally created with a Sony custom version of Android OS 4.2.2, and since June 27, 2014, the Xperia Z Ultra there have been more updates. In spite of this, Google is no longer selling the Sony Z Ultra GPE. So we can officially say that the Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition has reached the end of its useful life, yet they can still receive updates.
