OTA update for the Galaxy Note II, Sprint version

Sprint has announced an OTA update for the Galaxy Note II. It’s just a minor update, so if you are the owner of one of those devices, you still need to wait for a bit longer before getting Android 5.0 Lollipop on your smartphone.

The Galaxy Note II has a HD Super AMOLED 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. It packs a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and was originally launched running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. A few months ago, it received a major update, when the Galaxy Note II got Android 4.4 Kitkat.

Currently, the new software version is L900VPUCNK2, and it fixes some security issues from Google. The update is rolling out in waves, so it might take a while to get the notification on your Galaxy Note.

You can always try to search for the update manually, and then download the new update file. To do so, you need to tab on “apps”, on the lower part of the home screen, and go to “Settings”. On the “More” tab, go to “System Updates” and then you can check if there is any new version available.

If the update is ready, you just need to download the file and to follow the instructions to install the new software version. After restarting the phone, you can check if the version number match with the one provided above.
