Earlier this month we showed you a list of Sony devices to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. At that time we did not know when and if you would rather have to pass through Android 5.1 Lollipop before. Nothing is further from reality, because those Xperia devices that are on the list will be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow directly.
As you will know the Sony Xperia Z2, Z3 and Z3 Compact already have Android 5.1 Lollipop, but much of the Xperia phones to be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow will make it from Android 5.0 Lollipop.
According to the official website of Sony, the following Xperia devices will receive the latest version of the operating system without receiving Google Android 5.1: Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C4, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M5, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet.
We do not know the exact date when these devices will be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, although we can expect in the coming months begin to reach the expected update to users.
It was expected that Sony leap directly from Android 5.0 to Marshmallow. What compile the update to Android 5.1 if we can directly launch directly the latest operating system from Google. That will be the question
Sony Xperia range
Xperia is the name of the (formerly Sony Ericsson) family of smartphones and tablets of the brand Sony Xperia. The name is derived from the word “experience”, combined with the ending ‘ia’.
The first smartphone from Xperia family is called Xperia X1 and was launched in October 2008 with the sloganb “I (Sony Ericsson) Xperia the best”. The Xperia X1 was a high-end device aimed at the professional sector and developed with the intention of filling the widening gap of smartphones that other competitors like HTC and Apple were producing. It had powerful features like Qualcomm 528MHz processor, 256 RAM, 3-inch high resolution display (311 ppi), Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G network and the mobile operating system Windows Mobile 6.1, which marked the beginning of a partnership between Sony Ericsson and Microsoft.
