T-Mobila has announced an OTA update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat for the Galaxy Tab 3. The company doesn’t provide many detail about the changes, so you can expect to get all the new features that come with KitKat.
If you are the owner of a Galaxy Tab 3, you can get the new software from the “Software updates”, option that you can find under the “Settings” > “About device”. The new software version is T217TUVUBNL1, you can check the number to see if you have the last version running on your device.
The file is quite heavy, over 500MB, so be sure to be connected to a Wi-Fi network before starting the download. Once the file is completely downloaded, just tab on it and it will automatically start the installation. Keep in mind that you need to have the battery at least 50% charged.
If you prefer to manually install the update from a computer, you need to install first the Kies. Then, with the USB debugging enabled on the tablet, you can connect the Galaxy Tab to the PC and install the file from there. You can find the detailed instructions at T-Mobile page.
