Verizon update for the Droid Turbo


Verizon has announced a small update for the Droid Turbo. It’s not yet Lollipop, so the device will be still running Kitkat. Motorola has already updated the Moto X from Verizon to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but if you are the owner of a Droid family device, you still need to wait for the latest Android version.

The new software version will bring a few changes. Verizon has published the changelog corresponding to the v 21.44.8 update, which are mainly focused on bug fixes and a few performance enhancements.

Among the new features, we are going to find Advanced Calling 1.0, Verizon’s VoLTE implementation. Now, you will be able to use Voice and Data simultaneously.

As usual, the update will be rolling out in waves. You are going to need a Wi-Fi network to download the file, and remember that you also need to have a fully charged battery before starting the installation.

If you have problems to get a suitable Wi-Fi connection, you can also connect your Droid Turbo to the computer with Internet access through an USB cable. The, you just need to install the Software Upgrade Assistant on your computer. It will check for updates and automatically start the updating process.
