There are a lot of expectation about the first updates to Android 5.0 Lollipop. In theory, the Nexus family is supposed to be the first to receive any software update. However, with the last devices, Motorola has made a great job and has released some updates even before Google.
This time, all the eyes are focused on Motorola. And it’s possible that this company starts to roll out Android Lollipop to the Moto X and Moto G devices even before the new software version hits the Nexus.
Some Moto X owners has already received the soak test for the Android 5.0, and Moto G owners can expect to receive them soon too. Currently, the soak test are rolling out for the Moto X Pure Edition, the unlocked model of the device.
Motorola had posted the release notes for the Moto G (2014) and Moto X Pure Edition on its website, although they had already been pulled.
The new versions will bring a lot on new features, such as enhanced notifications, multitasking, ambient display and flashlight toogle among many others.
Motorola is keeping the well-earned reputation regarding its updating software, and the fact that the company new belongs to Lenovo doesn’t seem to affect its updating policy. Most of the Motorola devices are currently running Android 4.4.4 or are going to receive the update soon, and now it’s flaship device, the Moto X, is walking a step forward to get Android 5.0 Lollipop really soon.
If you have one of those devices, keep an eye on the news as it won’t take long to receive a notification regarding the update to the new sweet Lollipop.
