Good news for all Nexus owners of a 2012 Nexus 7 WiFi tablet. AndroidPolice has just posted the links to the unofficial factory images for this device. So, if you are really in a hurry and don’t want to wait for the official release, here you have a good chance to bring the new Android 5.0 Lollipop to your Nexus 7.
There is a chance that those image files are not the final ones, but you can download and try them to have a taste of the new Android 5.0 flavor. The built is LRX21P, and you can find the file from Google or Mega (mirror).
If you have a 2012 Nexus 7 WiFi tablet, you can safety flash the image and get the new software running smoothly. If this is the first time you try to flash an image, Google has all the instructions posted on their developer website. Just go there and follow the steps detailed.
This time, Nexus devices are not the first one to receive the update to the new Android 5.0 Lollipop. The update has created a lot of expectations, as it’s one of the biggest updates of Android history. All the manufacturers are engaged in a race to bring the update to their flagship devices, and currently, Motorola is clearly the winner. The Moto G 2014 Edition is the first device to receive an official update, even before Google roll out the new version to the Nexus family devices.
Nexus has always been known for running the newest software available, and this time it seems that Nexus owners will have to wait a bit longer to get an official version of Lollipop on their devices. However, it’s just a matter of time, and we can probably expect to see a lot of Lollipop updates rolling out during the next weeks.
