Sprint updates for the LG G3 and G Flex

Sprint has announced an OTA update for two of the LG’s flagship devices. The LG G3 and the G Flex are receiving a new software, which brings some minor changes to the current version.

Both devices will still be running Android KitKat, so it’s not the big awaited update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. This change is going to fix some bugs, will bring some security fixes and add international Wi-Fi calling.

Here there are the details Sprint posted for either device.

LG G3

Google Security Patches
Qualcomm Security Patch
International Voice over Wi-Fi
Improve unlock algorithm when phone is in the pocket
Enhancements to the LG Home (Sluggish UI fix)
Enhancements to the compass applications
Enhancements to the Auxiliary cable recognition
Mobilize Device content Caching

LG G Flex

International Voice over Wi-Fi
Google Security Patches
Enhancements to HD voice
Sprint g flex

As usual, the updates will be rolling out gradually. If you don’t feel like waiting for the update, you can manually start the download of the file going to the “Settings” menu and going to “System Update”. Once there, tap on “Update the software” to start the download.

Make sure to be connected to a Wi-Fi network and have at least 50% of the battery charged before starting the installation. When the process finishes, the phone will restart automatically.
