Sony continues its announced updates. This time does one very special, as we had lost much of hope. It is time to update your Sony Xperia M2 and Sony Xperia M2 Aqua devices directly to Android 5.1 lollipop.
First, Sony announced its devices will receive Android 5.1 Lollipop update starting in July for the current range. Concretely Sony Xperia M2 will be upgraded to Android 5.1 Lollipop at the beggining of the summer.
This is good news, as many could think that the Xperia series would not have the latest version of Lollipop. They did not have the 5.1 Lollipop version, but may not have such good luck with the next version.
Sony confirms that the Sony Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua will receive Lollipop, indeed will be updated directly to Android 5.1, as they were still on KitKat version. Also, the models Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3, they got an earlier version of Lollipop, but they are now on the list and you can see the date the operating system will follow those devices mentioned above will be updated in July. The thing is that it is quite clear that Sony is opening the range of options in relation to the Android 5.1 update, surely, that not much other models meet the same fate as those named in this article.
This announcement is evidence that we are happy but if the community does not complain, many manufacturers are resting on their laurels. It was logical that the M2, a fairly recent smartphone, had no update to Lollipop yet. They have not yet confirmed the update, but once completed will update all models of the Xperia Z series, in midsummer.
From here we congratulate all users of Xperia M2, a good cell phone we could not enter understand that does not receive Lollipop. Hopefully for the next summer will be solved.
