Good news for all the owners of a One M7 from AT&T. Mo Versi has just announced that the update to Android Lollipop has started to roll out, as the US carrier has already given the technical approval.
A few weeks ago, T-Mobile announced the update for their One M7, and even before that, the Sprint version, and the Developer Edition and Unlocked model were also released. Finally, AT&T has joined the other major US carriers and has released the expected OTA update.
The new version will bring Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to your device, with the software number 7.23.502.1.
The full update requires the installation of two different files. The first one will bring the phone to Android 4.4.2 (number 6.13.502.3), while the second one will make the jump directly to Android 5.0.2, the latest available.
AT&T posted the details regarding the notifications and updates. The first one (to Android 4.4.2) has started to roll out on March 31, while the notification for the update to Lollipop will be released on April 6. However, once you start the first update, you will be able to install the second one almost immediately. AT&T only advice to wait an hour before trying to download the second file, to be sure that the servers has been updated.
To update your device, be sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network and check that the battery is charged enough. Then, go to “Settings” and tap on “AT&T software update”. After checking for updates, follow the screen instructions to download and install the new software.
