If you have a Motorola Moto 360 you are in luck. The smartwatch company is starting to upgrade to Android Wear 5.1, the latest version of the system. Thus, in the coming days, users begin receiving the update, which has been delayed a few weeks. As has happened in the past, it arrives via OTA, so you can download directly from the device itself, without having to use cables.
One of the great features of this version is the ability to enable the WiFi connection. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop finally has this function, and is coming on the watch to be used, but that has not been exploited in legacy systems. It is not alone. With the upgrade, users of Moto 360 will also have an “always visible” mode, with which it is possible, for example, keep an application on the screen. On the other hand, Android Wear 5.1 incorporates a new “launcher”, adding gestures to perform well with wrist and conveniently access some main functions. Thus, only a flick of the wrist, we can navigate applications.
Different developments are to come with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and Android Wear 5.1. For example, it is possible to have different wearables connected to the same account and the same main smartphone, without incurring a problem. Also it comes with a new multimedia browser that will allow us to log in from the mobile browse files. However, the most important feature of this new update, which completely overshadows all other novelties, is the activation of WiFi connectivity, which allows the smartwatch to be connected to the wireless home network to update data and synchronize with Cloud services, without recourse to the connection of mobile, giving some autonomy to watch, not having to always be a few meters from our smartphone. The new update is being distributed, and should arrive soon to your Motorola Moto 360.
