HTC One M7 and M8 GPE get Lollipop

Android 5.0 Lollipop was launched less than a month ago, and there is already a small update to the initial software. The first devices to get the update were the Nexus family, the Moto G (2014 Edition) and the Moto X (2014), followed close behind by the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition.

After that, all the Google Play Edition devices are gradually receiving the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. If you are the owner of an HTC One M7 or M8 Google Play Edition, you are going to receive not Android 5.0 but directly the newest version of the software.

Google has just released a new small update for Lollipop, Android 5.0.1, which is already available for some of the Nexus devices as factory images. The HTC One M7 and M8 GPE are going to get directly this last update, skipping the 5.0 initial version.

With this update, most of the Google Play Edition devices will be running the last Android Lollipop, except for the Galaxy S4 and the Moto G 2013, which are expected to get the update soon.

If you are the owner of a HTC One Google Play Edition, you are going to get the OTA update any time now. However, if you don’t want to wait for the update, you can always check for the new software manually.
