After a series of screenshots appeared during the month of February, all the Alcatel Idol 3 owners can finally begin the countdown to the awaited update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Through a series of responses on Facebook, the company confirmed that the new distribution will arrive on the 5.5-inch model during the entire month of May, timing that may vary slightly, depending on the variants marketed with or without operators.
In addition to the improvements “under the hood” that Marshmallow will naturally lead, Alcatel should also interven at the interface, renewing some elements such as icons, along with the latest security updates that you will find pre-installed with the update (or at least that is what we expect, according to the words of the company: “Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be available beginning end of May, date vary depending on the variants or operators’ schedule”).
The starting system on board in the smartphone was Android 5.0 Lollipop which, apparently, will soon be supplanted by the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Alcatel announced via a message on Facebook that the update will be released in the month of May with times varying according to zones and operators. The only thing that is puzzling is the subsequent cancellation of the message. We remain, therefore, pending further developments.
The Alcatel Idol 3 is a smartphone equipped with Qualcom Snapdragon 615 processor octacore 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory but allowing expansion via microSD slot up to 128 GB, 13 megapixel camera, even in dual SIM version. There are some different versions, depending on the size of the display, considering the one with 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1080 × 1920 pixels and other with 4.7 inches, which is also affected by the update of the operating system.
It is a smartphone capable of satisfying even the most demanding user. In terms of functionality this Alcatel Idol 3 did not really miss anything, with the 4G LTE module that allows data transfer and Internet browsing excellent, via Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS. It is a product with few competitors as regards multimedia thanks to the 13 megapixel camera that allows you to take high quality photos with a resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels and record video in Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The thickness of 7.4 mm is really low and made this Alcatel Idol 3 even more spectacular at the moment.
