Verizon has announced an small update for three members of the DROID family. The DROID Ultra, Maxx and Mini are going to get this OTA update that basically brings “Advanced Calling bug fixes and stability improvements”.
The Advanced Calling 1.0 is a service suite enabled by VoLTE technology (Voice over LTE). If you have one of the devices which currently supports VoLTE, you have probably noticed a difference in the Voice and Video Calling, which have a more natural-sounding than the tradicional voice call over 3G.
With this update, Verizon will fix some bugs and make the VoLTE experience somewhat better on those devices.
It’s an OTA update, so you receive the notification soon if you haven’t get it yet. However, if you don’t want to wait, you can always check manually to know if the file is available to your device. To do so, just go to the “Apps” menu on your Home screen and then tab on “About phone”. Once there, touch on “System updates” and you will see if the file is available to download.
Once the installation is finished, the device has to reestart in order to run the new software version.
