Good news for owners of a Sony Xperia Z5, because the top model of the Japanese firm has begun to receive the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow via OTA. While the brand has always been the most criticized in speed of updates is concerned, we can not forget that it is one of the brands that most number of devices usually updates. It seems that Sony has wanted to get serious about this update since long ago warned about what devices would receive, in addition to indicating the M4 Aqua will go directly to Marshmallow too, and to provide the launcher to use its devices in this new version.
Although it seems that for now, the Android Marshmallow update has been released in Turkey and for the Xperia Z5 is a matter of days or hours in other countries, which is released in other variants of the device, as the Z5 Compact or Z5 Premium. A very good news considering that Android 6.0 is still one of the versions with smaller market share, with less than 3%, which places this top model as one of the first devices introduced last year to receive updating, excluding Google Nexus, of course.
Remembering Sony planning regarding the update, we see the Xperia Z2 and Z3 are also scheduled to receive the new version of Android in the month of February, so it should not take too long to arrive, as well as devices midrange as C4, M4 Aqua, C5 and M5, which should also receive the update in the coming months.
Sony Xperia Z5 is perhaps one of the most interesting smartphone currently on the market, not only in the technical specifications, but also design, materials and quality of the display. Precisely for this Sony wanted to respect its promise and start the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its flagship. Finally, the only thing to do is to have patience and wait for the next developments that will affect the Xperia Z5. After all, the development team is working hard in bringing also a new launcher very similar to that present in the stock version of Android.
