Sony announces a worldwide update for the several Xperia devices


Sony announced a couple of weeks ago the update to Lollipop for the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia X3 Compact. That initial update started in the Nordics and Baltics, and now it will be available in more markets all over the world.

In addition, the update will also reach the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, and next week, the Xperia Z2 and the Xperia Z2 tablet will also start to receive the update. However, the availability will vary depending on the region and the carrier.

This new version brings the software to the last Android versions available, Android 5.0.2, and you will get all the typical features that you can expect with Lollipop.

Among other things, the new Android version will provide the new notification screen, with customizable settings, the possibility to move apps to the SD card an the new multi user mode.

Finally, Sony also confirmed that the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 will receive Lollipop, although the company doesn’t say a word about any possible schedule.

Keep in mind that this is a major update. Once you get the notification, check that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network and that the battery is charged enough. The installation will take several minutes to be completed, and then, the device will automatically restart, running the new software.
