A few days ago, the Nvidia SHIELD portable received an update that fixed some important bugs. Now it is the SHIELD Tablet that gets its own update.
The new SHIELD Tablet LTE has been launched today, so the company has chosen the same day to give its old costumers the newest software available. The software build 1.2 includes some enhancements and bug fixes. Nvidia has detailed the full list of changes in its website:
Enhanced SHIELD Hub Features
Network Test capability
User Customizable ‘My Android Games’ and ‘My Media Apps’
Share ‘News’ items, swipe between articles
Improved Touch Performance
Misc. Stability and Localization Improvements
The update is expected to reach all SHIELD owners via an OTA notification, although if you want to get it just now, you can download the file manually. To obtain the file needed for the update, you just need to access the “About” option, which can be found under the “Settings” menu. Once there, you can search for the file by tapping on “System updates”.
As always, you should check your connection before attempting to download an update file. It can easily weigh several hundreds of MB, so it’s better not to waste your entire data plan with a single file.
Once you have the file fully downloaded, charge the battery of you device and start the installation. Once restarted, you can check the new software number to make sure that the update has been successfully installed.
