Kid’s tablet Nabi 2 gets an update to Android 4.4 KitKat


Fuhu has announced an OTA update for the Nabi 2 that brings a lot of new features with the new v3.0 version, as well as some fixes. The list of changes is pretty big and with Android 4.4 KitKat, the tablet will get a considerably improvement of the original software.

A few months ago, Fuhu had already updated the Nabi DreamTab HD8 to Android 4.4 KitKat, and now the new software will reach the Nabi 2.

You can find the full changelog posted on Fuhu’s website. The list of improvements is really big and among many other things, you will find a new organization for the movies, games and music, a new Utilities Suite and Dream Pro Studio Apps, and an easy connection mode to stay in contact with your friends.

On the security part, there are also some enhancements, which will also extend to the usual features that come with Android 4.4 KitKat. So, you will have a faster multitasking, more responsive apps and the expected overall improved performance.

Before starting the update process, make sure that you have enough free memory, as the installation requires 1 GB free. And before starting the process, check that the battery is at least at 45% of charge.

To get the update, you need to sign in to Mommy/Daddy Mode and tap on “All Apps”. From there, go to “Settings” and tap on “About tablet”. Go to “Update” and tap on “Check update”. If the file is available, you can start the download straightaway.

Wait a few minutes for the process to be complete and when the installation is finish, the Nabi 2 will automatically restart.
