Android 6.0 Marshmallow is getting closer to some Xiaomi smartphones

Xiaomi is preparing itself to launch its next flagship, the Xiaomi Mi5, fortunately, it seems that the company still has not forgotten some of its older devices. Although the Asian company had already confirmed a few weeks ago it was working on the update for at least two of its devices, the latest reports indicate that would be in the final stages of the testing process.

This information was obtained through a post on social network Weibo, used mainly in China, where the Xiaomi operations manager confirmed status updates of MIUI ROM, layer used by the firm. Although the Chinese version of the terminal will be the first to receive the new software, global models should follow the example in the not too distant future.

With regard to smartphones that were mentioned in the post, and which will be the first to receive the update, we would be talking of Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4, together with the phablet Xiaomi Mi Note. As much as the version is being tested in these moments is the beta, which will surely bring a dose of errors, chances are to see a broadcast of the same beta next week.

However, the most stable version may take a little longer to be propagated to the world in a public way, so we will wait for a little longer to see what happens. Meanwhile, it has emerged in the networks a screenshot showing the latest version of Android, named MIUI 5.12.25, available for an unknown Xiaomi terminal. According to the image, the update weighs 518 MB.

It is worth noting that earlier this year, Xiaomi began issuing the MIUI version 7 to a small number of devices from the manufacturer. In fact, the Redmi 1s today remains stuck on Android 4.4 KitKat, which caliber Xiaomi company should not be allowed. This caused much confusion and disappointment among owners and fans of the Asian firm. Still waiting to see if, with a little luck, Xiaomi includes other phones in the list of updates to Android 6.0, so we have to cross our fingers.
