LG announces the update to Lollipop next week for the G3


All the manufacturers are trying to be the first to update their flagships to Android 5.0 Lollipop. A few day ago, Motorola started the soak test for the Moto X and the Moto G (2014) was following close behind.

Sony has already announced that it’s working on bringing Android 5.0 Lollipop to their flagship devices, and they are even release the builds for the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z2, and Xperia Z3. And they are not the only ones working hard. Images of the Samsung Galaxy S5 running Lollipop has been appearing, and HTC has also announced the update coming to their devices in a few weeks.

LG has announced today that the flagship of the company, the G3, is going to receive the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop this next week. The company has choose Poland to start the update, and after that, they will move to other markets.

The Korean company has detailed some of the new features that Lollipop bring to their devices:

This latest Android OS delivers a host of improvements including a new design language with added depth, shadows and animations. Notifications are improved with a new layout and color scheme and will be available on the new lock screen. A new security feature to strengthen the connectivity between devices will include enabling users to unlock their smartphone when it is physically near a pre-registered Bluetooth device such as the LG G Watch or G Watch R. Lollipop also introduces Android Runtime (ART) software to improve performance.

There is no information regarding the future expansion to other markets, on where those “key markets” will be. More news are expected in the next days, as the first G3 devices receive the update. So, if you have a G3, be ready to experience Android Lollipop really soon. Maybe even before that the Nexus!
